Salam... Kaksu bertindik telinga sewaktu di tingkatan dua, kalau tak salah. Kawan emak yang tindikan. Tak sakit, tak menanah... alhamdulillah, dia guna safety pin sahaja. Tapi rasanya kaksu tak pakai subang pun, sebab mana ada duit hendak beli barang kemas. Bertindik bagi anak perempuan waktu zaman kaksu tu - lambang dewasa sekali gus lambang berani! Kemudian apabila kaksu di universiti, atau tingkatan enam, kalau tak salahlah... apabila tok balik dari Makkah... tok belikan batu-batu zamrud (macam jade) dan tok buatkan sepasang subang, cincin dan loket untuk kaksu dan juga set yang sama untuk adik kaksu, Laili. Kemudian tok belikan rantai leher untuk dipadankan dengan loket zamrud tu. Cantik sangat. Tapi subang (kata orang Kedah) tu macam besar sikit... dan buat kaksu rasa tak selesa hendak memakainya.
